Requesting a refund

If your physical delivery fails to arrive, is damaged during transit, or significantly deviates from the product description, you can request a refund through the Algoosh protocol.

You can initiate a refund request directly through your Algoosh-compatible interface. This sends a signal to the escrow smart contract and notifies the seller.

  • Seller Approves: If the seller agrees, they approve the refund signal. The escrow smart contract immediately releases the funds back to your wallet.
  • Seller Disagrees: If the seller rejects the request, the order may move toward a dispute state.

The protocol operates on strict time-bound rules to ensure finality for both parties.

  • Wait for the Delivery Window: You cannot request a refund during the first 45 days. This period is strictly reserved for the real-world shipping and delivery process.
  • The 7-Day Grace Period: Once the 45-day window closes, you have exactly 7 days to signal the protocol if a refund is required.
  • Risk of Delay: If the 7-day grace period passes (Day 52+) without a refund request or a completion signal, the seller can claim the payout via the inactivity rule.

If a refund request is rejected and direct communication fails, you may escalate the matter to Arbitration. A neutral third party will review evidence of the transaction and delivery attempts to decide the final escrow outcome.

See the Disputes & Arbitration section for details.
