Order Lifecycle
The Algoosh order lifecycle is a series of time-bound steps governed by an escrow smart contract. This flow is specifically optimized for physical commerce, ensuring funds are protected while goods are in transit.
1. Order Creation & Escrow Funding
Section titled “1. Order Creation & Escrow Funding”The buyer creates an order, and funds move directly from the buyer’s wallet to an escrow smart contract.
The funds are held by the smart contract, not by Algoosh or the seller.
2. Seller Confirmation Window (5 Days)
Section titled “2. Seller Confirmation Window (5 Days)”The seller has 5 days to confirm they can process the order. This signals to the protocol that the seller is active and the items are in stock.
3. Order Cancellation
Section titled “3. Order Cancellation”If the seller refuses the order or remains unresponsive for 5 days, the buyer may cancel. Upon cancellation, the escrow smart contract automatically releases the funds back to the buyer.
4. Fulfillment & Shipping
Section titled “4. Fulfillment & Shipping”Once confirmed, the seller begins physical fulfillment: packaging items and handing them off to a carrier or preparing for local delivery.
5. Delivery Window (45 Days)
Section titled “5. Delivery Window (45 Days)”The buyer has a 45-day window to receive the physical goods.
- Early Completion: The buyer can signal completion at any time if the items arrive early.
- No Early Refunds: A refund cannot be requested during this initial 45-day window, as it is reserved for the real-world shipping process.
6. Completion & Payout
Section titled “6. Completion & Payout”When the buyer signals completion (delivery received), the escrow smart contract releases the funds to the seller. This can happen any time during or after the delivery window, provided no refund request is active.
7. Refund Request Window (7-Day Grace Period)
Section titled “7. Refund Request Window (7-Day Grace Period)”If the 45-day delivery window expires and the goods have not arrived or are unsatisfactory, a 7-day grace period begins. This is the exclusive window for requesting a refund through the protocol.
8. Refund Approval
Section titled “8. Refund Approval”If the seller approves the refund request, the escrow smart contract releases the funds back to the buyer.
9. Seller Payout (Buyer Inactivity)
Section titled “9. Seller Payout (Buyer Inactivity)”If the buyer remains inactive (no completion signal and no refund request) by the end of the 7-day grace period, the seller may request a payout.
- Eligibility: Possible starting on Day 52 (45 days + 7-day grace period).
- Outcome: Escrow releases funds to the seller once conditions are met.
10. Dispute & Arbitration (Optional)
Section titled “10. Dispute & Arbitration (Optional)”If the parties cannot agree, the dispute may be escalated to arbitration. Algoosh acts as an arbitrator to decide the escrow outcome based on evidence of shipment/delivery.
