Trust & Safety
Algoosh is built on the pillars of privacy, security, and decentralization. By leveraging the Algorand blockchain and client-side encryption, the protocol provides a robust environment for physical commerce without requiring a central authority to hold user funds.
Privacy by Default
Section titled “Privacy by Default”Privacy is a core feature of the Algoosh protocol. Unlike traditional commerce platforms, Algoosh ensures sensitive order data is never exposed to the protocol or unauthorized third parties.
- Client-Side Encryption: Delivery addresses and contact details are encrypted on the buyer’s device before being transmitted.
- On-Chain Security: Encrypted data is stored in Algorand “application boxes,” accessible only by the buyer and the seller.
- Zero Knowledge: Algoosh never has access to plaintext order data. We do not track where items are shipped or who is buying them.
Non-Custodial Escrow
Section titled “Non-Custodial Escrow”Algoosh never takes custody of user funds. Instead, it uses smart contracts to manage the flow of value autonomously.
- Direct Flow: Funds move from the buyer’s wallet directly into an escrow smart contract.
- Rule-Based Release: The smart contract only releases funds based on explicit user signals or predefined time windows.
- No Platform Control: Algoosh does not “hold” or “move” your money. The protocol is a rules engine that enforces agreements programmatically.
Predictable Timelines
Section titled “Predictable Timelines”The protocol uses clear windows and signals to create certainty for both parties:
- Confirmation (5 Days): Protections against unresponsive sellers.
- Delivery (45 Days): Sufficient time for real-world shipping before refund requests are enabled.
- Grace Period (7 Days): A dedicated window for buyers to request refunds or for sellers to claim payouts if the buyer is inactive.
Professional Arbitration
Section titled “Professional Arbitration”In the rare event of a dispute, Algoosh provides an optional arbitration service.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”For Buyers
Section titled “For Buyers”- Keep it Private: Only share sensitive information through the protocol’s encrypted payload.
- Signal Early: Confirm delivery as soon as you have verified your items to release funds to the seller.
- Monitor Windows: Request any necessary refunds during the 7-day grace period (Days 45–52).
For Sellers
Section titled “For Sellers”- Secure Packaging: Ensure physical goods are prepared safely for transit.
- Retain Proof: Always keep shipping receipts and tracking information.
- Proactive Support: Respond to buyer inquiries promptly to avoid escalations.
